Development – Automotive air vents and trims
Job Purpose
Responsible for development activity after design release till series production
– To bridge the gap between design/engineering and production.
Principal Accountabilities
Track the timing for development activities.
➢ Define and prove the part for set processes to achieve the end results
➢ Involvement from design release to SOP+90 days and hand over to
production team
➢ Manufacturing feasibility checks, risk analysis, involvement in bench
marking, trouble shooting, design review meetings etc.
➢ Support to define the cubing/gauge concepts, tooling lists etc…….
➢ Implementation of engg. change during development phase.
➢ Creation of BOM in ERP/SAP system and maintain as per engg changes
in part
➢ Lesson learnt documentation during development phase.
➢ Mock up preparation and validation
➢ VA-VE, Improvements, if any
➢ Standalone participate in technical discussion with end customer and
interact directly
➢ To ensure flexibility and multi-tasking to work in different group and
projects
➢ To do self-inspection and take the ownership of the work done.
➢ To uphold and abide by code of ethics & management
Qualification / Background Experience / Skills / Knowledge
➢ The ideal candidate will have/be Engineering degree or significant professional experience
➢ Minimum education level: Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in mechanical / Automobile / production / polymer engineering
➢ Plastic part development experience of 6-8 years in automotive industries
➢ Good knowledge of tooling, plastic joining and fixing processes, assembly processes
➢ Good knowledge of jig and fixtures, gauges….
➢ Knowledge about drawing reading and GD&T
➢ Knowledge of DVP’s / functional testing will be added advantage
➢ Knowledge of at least 2 project life cycles
➢ Good knowledge of MS Power point, Word, Excel etc.
➢ IATF 16949, ISO9001 standard knowledge and support for its compliance
